The Tornadoes wide receiver Sarah (O.G) Glassborow is another Tornado heading to Canada. Sarah first began her football journey back in September 2013 after discovering women’s American football through the University of Hertfordshire’s Active Student programme.

Since joining the Tornadoes Sarah has relished at the opportunity of being a part of the oldest and one of the best teams in the country which is led by awesome coaches.

This athlete has super long limbs, solid hands and has worked hard in the gym to ensure her muscular physique. OG’s long limbs allow her to catch any ball probably why she said her superpower as a player is “Stretch Armstrong Limbs”

When O.G isn’t running her routes she enjoys cheering on her team the Green Bay Packers. Currently Sarah is working at Aldi but will begin her Masters in Sports Nutrition at Loughborough University in October. In order for Sarah to balance her work/studies with football she creates schedules, as she loves being organised and by doing this always assigns time for the gym. A typical day at the gym for her is splitting between upper and lower body four times a week. On the approach to the Women’s World Championships she has been following a 5-3- 1 programmes involving big lifts (e.g. squats, dead-lifts) followed by smaller lifts (e.g. bent over rows, pull ups). Following this programme helps with injury prevention and improvement of her form.

In term of her diet before worlds it is not surprising like most of us she LOVES carbs, especially bread and pasta (yum!), but along with her carbs she makes sure to get lots and lots of veggies and a good amount of protein, however, unlike some of our athletes, Sarah gets her protein for plant based foods and has shown that you don’t need to be a carnivore to get gains!
